Couples therapy or relational therapy is an opportunity for growth, healing, and change. It’s a safe, neutral space where the relationship is priority. At some point in a relationship, it’s common for one or both individuals to feel the relationship must change to continue, feel dissatisfied, experience frustration, or reach an impasse where neither person wants or feels responsible for changing. This is where therapy can be helpful. Our sessions together will explore the impact of early relationships on each individual’s wellbeing and sense of self. Through a psychodynamic, systems-based, attachment-science lens, we’ll look at unconscious patterns and the impact they are having in your current relationship. I’ll guide you through techniques that promote understanding, empathy, and effective communication, with the goal of creating clarity, deepening emotional expression, strengthening emotional bonds, and enhancing wellbeing.
